Ingredients

  • – 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • – 3 cups granulated sugar
  • – 5 large eggs
  • – 1 cup sour cream
  • – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • – 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • – 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • – 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan or bundt pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes. Then, carefully invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, slice and serve. Enjoy your delicious pound cake!
