Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix
  • 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional)
  • Salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise for even cooking. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. In a skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter and whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Slowly add 1.5 cups of chicken broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add chicken to the gravy and cover. Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Remove chicken, shred or slice, and mix back into the gravy. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or with your favorite sides.
